Application Process
Once eligible, choose the correct form: most adults aged 18β59 use form 1300t, while applicants aged 60 and over use form 1290. Children and people applying under other pathways have separate forms. Gather documents such as your permanent resident visa, identity documents, travel history, police certificates and evidence of English ability.
You can apply online or by post and must pay the required fee. After lodging your application you will receive an appointment for the citizenship test or an interview. Bring your ID documents to the appointment. About 75% of applications are finalised within seven months. If approved you will be invited to a citizenship ceremony where you make the Pledge of Commitment and receive your certificate.
