Eligibility
To qualify for Dutch citizenship by naturalisation you usually need to have lived in the Netherlands for at least five consecutive years with a valid residence permit. You must be at least 18, have a permanent or longβterm residence permit and not be under a custodial sentence or subject to a criminal investigation.
Applicants must be of good character and sufficiently integrated into Dutch society. This includes the requirement to renounce your previous nationality unless you fall under an exemption (for example if your countryβs laws do not allow renunciation). You will need to attend a naturalisation ceremony and make a declaration of solidarity with the Dutch constitutional order.
